Responsible for collecting of admission fees, donations, distribution of maps, and other promotional materials to our guests. Achieves maximum sales profitability by effectively selling tickets, memberships, rides wristbands, and/or related services. Offer outstanding guest service skills.

• Sell tickets and other promotional items to guests
• Identify advantages and compare organization’s products/services and assist guest in selecting those best suited to their needs
• Ability to handle cash, credit cards and checks accurately
• Operate a computer terminal and record discount information, separately tracking each coupon and promotion. Ability to make change and to perform simple arithmetic calculations with accuracy and with reasonable speed
• Provide quality guest interaction and service
• Issue receipts, tickets, and change with accuracy
• Balance and clear terminal and count all fees received for the day
• Keep workstation and surrounding area clean and organized. Restock supplies each day as needed
• May be on occasions assigned to assist in other areas of the zoo with crowd control or assist with rides department
• Ability to deal courteously with the public and zoo team members. Develop and maintain harmonious relationship with other employees
• Perform other duties as assigned by department management team

Knowledge:

• Possess good writing and verbal skills
• Computer skills required
• Zoo, hospitality or entertainment industries a plus or related experience
• 2-3 years of sales experience preferred
• Experience dealing with the public and computers preferred

• Must have outstanding ability to work with people
• Must enjoy being around/with children
• Must have exceptional customer service skills
• Mandatory availability on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as most holidays and evenings.

• High School diploma or GED

• Must be able to lift 35+ lbs

• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Must be comfortable working in cold and hot weather conditions.
