Position: 183 RETAIL - BEER SALES - FT (79706)

Job Summary

Provide extraordinary shopping experiences to guests and stock merchandise. Full‑time position at 183 Houston – Houston, TX.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Know and actively demonstrate our Company Mission Statement and Core Values daily.
  • Maintain uniform standards as detailed in the Employee Manual for all worked hours.
  • Demonstrate superior product knowledge and greet guests with a smile and helpful demeanor.
  • Recommend merchandise based on guests' needs or desires, focusing on our in‑house brands.
  • Answer guests' questions concerning price and use of merchandise.
  • Create client relationships with regular guests.
  • Carry product to register counters and assist guests as needed.
  • Operate the cash register and receive as directed by business requirements.
  • Prepare promotional events and set up displays to promote sales.
  • Front merchandise, rotate stock for freshness, and stock shelves with product.
  • Maintain neat and orderly sales floor and back stock; clean shelves, aisles, and tables to avoid trips and falls.
  • Maintain fresh and readable price tags on all products.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding fast or slow‑moving product, stock levels, out‑of‑stocks, and department needs.
  • Prepare sales floor and storage areas for inventory and assist in the inventory process if needed.
  • Use and maintain computers and RF scanner equipment properly.
  • Continuously improve related skills and knowledge to contribute to profitability and productivity.
  • Avoid conversations with coworkers when guests are present and limit use of personal cell phone to work‑related activities only on the sales floor.
  • Carry out directives of management efficiently and fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.
  • Practice teamwork and cooperation with others.
  • Possess time‑management skills and prioritize tasks.
  • Manage stress in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA.
  • Stand, lift, carry, walk, bend, and reach products routinely weighing 50 lbs or more; lift and/or move up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally using proper lifting techniques and tools; push or pull 50–100 lbs regularly.
  • Communicate with and understand team members and guests; see product and signage.
  • Perform any other projects and tasks assigned by management, including cleaning bathroom duties.
  • Maintain attendance and timeliness requirements; this is not a remote sales job.
  • Hours

    Full‑time: typically 35 hours per week. Must be available to work any shift on Friday or Saturday and at least 80% of all shifts each week. Part‑time: up to 25 hours per week. Work schedule is determined by business needs.

    Qualifications
    • Minimum 21 years of age required by state law.
    • High‑school diploma, GED, or equivalent; retail sales experience is preferred.
    • Strong product knowledge is a plus.
    • Read, comprehend, and write simple instructions or memos; communicate effectively with coworkers and guests.
    • Bilingual skills are a plus.
    • Basic mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; calculate discounts and percentages.
    • Positive demeanor: friendly, helpful, self‑starter, reliable, and committed to providing extraordinary service.
    • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs occasionally; push and pull 50–100 lbs regularly.
    • Valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit (and, where applicable, valid Food Handlers Permit).
    • Adherence to workplace safety and health regulations.
    Reasoning Ability

    Apply common‑sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, and balancing; use of arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach; communication and understanding. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions while serving guests. Noise level typically moderate.
