Job Description & How to Apply Below

Location: Atlanta, GA metro area •
Type: 1099 Contractor (Approx. 30–40 hours/week)

Atlanta Houseplants is a small, growing interiorscape and plant-care business based in the Atlanta metro area. We design, install, and maintain live plant programs for offices, lobbies, commercial buildings, hotels, restaurants, and select residential clients. Our work is all about keeping our clients’ spaces looking great with healthy, well-cared-for plants, week after week.

This page is the first step in applying for our
Plant Care & Operations Specialist role. Step 1 is a short application so we can confirm basic logistics, experience, and overall fit before inviting you to a more in-depth second step.

About the Role (High Level)

The Plant Care & Operations Specialist is a route-based, field-service role with some light operations. In this position, you will:

  • Drive your own car to multiple client sites around the Atlanta area.
  • Water, prune, clean, and care for indoor plants in offices, lobbies, and common areas.
  • Watch for issues like over/under-watering, pests, disease, or light problems and flag them early.
  • Help with simple plant swaps and occasional installations or seasonal projects.
  • Follow checklists, keep simple notes, and communicate clearly about what your route needs.
What We’re Looking For

You do not need to be a horticulture expert on day one. We’re more interested in people who:

  • Have reliable transportation and are comfortable driving to several stops per day.
  • Pay attention to details and care about how spaces look.
  • Are dependable, organized, and able to follow a route and schedule.
  • Enjoy working independently but can communicate well with clients and the owner.
  • Are curious about plants and willing to learn more over time.
  • Have an ownership mindset and want to take responsibility for “their” accounts.
Before You Apply

This role will be a great fit for you if the statements below describe you:

  • You have a reliable car and a valid driver’s license.
  • You are available to work weekday daytime hours (Monday–Friday).
  • You are comfortable working as a 1099 contractor (no company-paid benefits initially).
  • You enjoy being on your feet, moving around, and doing hands-on work instead of sitting at a desk.

If this description feels like a good fit for you, we’d love to learn a bit more.

Step 1 – Short Application Form

Please complete the application form below as accurately as you can. This step helps us confirm that the basics line up (schedule, transportation, general experience, and interest in the role). If it looks like a strong match, we’ll invite you to a more detailed Phase 2 step where we’ll dive deeper into how you think about plant care, organization, and client service.

Once you’ve filled out all required fields, click Submit
. You’ll receive a confirmation on the screen, and we’ll follow up by email or text if it makes sense to move forward.
