Who you are:We are seeking a senior, quota‑carrying Business Development Executive (BDE) responsible for driving direct and indirect revenue growth within Geotab’s most valuable Executive Accounts (end‑customer fleets greater than 10,000 vehicles). You thrive in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment, love technology, and want to make an impact.
What you’ll do:The BDE is directly accountable for achieving an Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) growth target across a prescribed list of Executive Accounts. This growth comes from new customer acquisition and upselling, based on measurable influence in SFDC. The BDE partners with SVP Business Development and SVP Global Strategic Accounts as strategic advisors.
How you’ll make an impact:- Prospect, research, identify, and hunt new business opportunities for assigned executive accounts.
- Build, evaluate, and implement sales strategies to generate new ARR.
- Document all selling strategies, engagements, and activities within Salesloft and SFDC to enable accurate forecasting and qualify opportunities for quota retirement.
- Initiate, lead, and manage contract development activities for assigned accounts as required.
- Identify, engage, and support new channel partnerships critical to revenue growth.
- Collaborate with the Business Segment team and Global Strategic Accounts to align sales activities with broader strategies and implement targeted upselling initiatives.
- Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders—Revenue Operations, Partner Account Managers, and internal teams—to follow sales system best practices, support oversight, and contribute to RFX processes.
- Develop deep knowledge of the telematics and fleet management industry and stay top‑of‑mind about trends and shifts.
- Maintain subject‑matter expertise of sub‑segment strategies for assigned executive accounts.
- Stay informed about the competitive landscape, including leaders and startups.
- Attend trade shows and speak at conferences to build relationships, brand presence, and thought leadership.
- Provide input on new business opportunities, competitive analysis, market trends, and business environment.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop short‑ and long‑term strategic revenue plans and forecasts.
- 8‑10 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Customer Development, Account Management, or related fields.
- Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Engineering, Business, or Commerce.
- Proven track record in developing new sales and accounts.
- Experience in the telematics or fleet management industry.
- Strong aptitude for understanding technical and business requirements.
- Able to anticipate and understand customer needs and provide viable solutions.
- Diplomatic, with solid negotiation, conflict‑resolution, and relationship‑management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable delivering presentations and training.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI capabilities to augment selling activities, with strong Salesloft and SFDC skills, time‑management, and multitasking ability.
- Research and analysis skills to understand market trends and industry pain points.
- Strategic thinker who understands which accounts to pursue, identifies key decision makers, and leads sales strategies.
- Up to 60% travel required; must hold a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
