Area Manager, Director of Sales
A Brief Overview
As Director, ASO Sales, you will influence the productivity, results, culture, and professionalism of your sales team while delivering the sales plan for an assigned industry vertical on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. You will be accountable for all frontline, local, and national sales activities and production through strong business planning and collaborative sales actions to ensure results.
What You Will Do- Motivate, encourage, develop, and lead a team of high‑performing ASO Sales Consultants.
- Hire, attract, and retain top sales talent through exceptional leadership and disciplined selling and managing cadence.
- Monitor and hold your team accountable to sales activity, weekly goals, and calendars.
- Observe and coach reps through weekly team meetings, one‑on‑ones, ride‑alongs, and call shadowing.
- Achieve assigned revenue targets through execution of a standardized management operating rhythm.
- Drive team performance and accelerate deals by removing internal barriers, anticipating and resolving conflicts, and celebrating success.
- Follow the published Tri Net Sales Methodology for territory planning, pipeline reviews, opportunity reviews, and forecasting; also apply hiring, coaching, and development practices.
- Meet or exceed forecast commitments to the Executive Director within published KPIs through development and implementation of quarterly and annual business plans.
- Build a referral and business partner ecosystem to support sales goals.
- Collaborate across industry verticals to develop the team’s industry knowledge and expertise.
- Drive demand‑generation activities and local marketing events to support brand awareness for Tri Net.
- Build a strong internal support network with cross‑functional colleagues (e.g., Pricing, Risk, Legal, Product, Marketing, Customer Experience, HR) to accelerate deal and opportunity negotiation.
- Implement rigorous sales culture through effective coaching, on‑the‑job training, mentoring, diligent process adherence, and quality monitoring.
- Coordinate with field counterparts to drive lead activity (pitch and pivot).
- Help create an ecosystem for the team, including brokers, CPAs, FAs, fractional CFOs, and others.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Qualifications- Typically 3+ years of successful sales‑management experience, preferably leading a field‑sales team.
- Typically 3+ years of consultative, B2B sales experience.
- Proven experience with PEO, HCM, and/or ASO.
- Ability to navigate a complex sales process with multiple partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate successfully at all levels of the organization.
- Adaptability to a fast‑paced, continually changing business environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Proven financial acumen and ability to forecast and manage quota.
- Experience with technology and common software applications, including MS Office and Salesforce.
- Commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
- Ability to influence C‑level executives and motivate direct reports to drive new client business.
- Knowledge of sales revenue models to maintain predictable regional profitability through pipeline and client management.
- Strong Excel skills to analyze prospect costs and create persuasive economic presentations.
A minimum of 25% travel is required in your assigned geography.
