North America Sales Director Building Materials
- Manufacturing US Based Salary: OTE 400K + Company Car + Benefits + 401K

Our Client:

Our client is a recognized North American manufacturer and market leader in the building materials industry, known for delivering innovative, high-performance solutions across commercial and residential construction.

As they continue to grow, they are looking for an experienced leader to take ownership of one of their North American Division. This is a true executive leadership role where strategy, execution, and leadership come together to drive long-term profitable growth across both Canada and the United States.

The Role:

Reporting to the Vice President, you will lead the North American sales organization, overseeing approximately $120M in annual revenue, with 5 direct reports (3 in the U.S. and 2 in Canada) and approximately 15 indirect reports.

This is far more than a sales management position. You will be responsible for developing the commercial strategy, putting it into action, and ensuring the organization executes against it.

Working across Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations and Warehousing, you will align every function toward one common objective: increasing market share while delivering exceptional customer experience and profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the North American strategy.
  • Increase market share within a highly competitive industry.
  • Own forecasting, budgeting and business planning.
  • Lead a high-performing sales organization through coaching, accountability and development.
  • Build strong relationships with distributors, national builders, contractors and strategic customers.
  • Lead complex customers negotiations with key national accounts.
  • Drive collaboration across multiple departments without direct authority.
  • Use market intelligence, financial analysis and economic trends to guide business decisions.
  • Ensure accurate sales forecasting and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee commercial performance including revenue, profitability and operating expenses.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring regular travel throughout North America and significant face-to-face interaction with customers and internal stakeholders.

The Candidate:

We are looking for a strategic business leader who understands that sustainable growth comes from aligning people, processes and commercial execution.

You are comfortable operating at both the executive level and in front of customers. You know how to build a long-term strategy, communicate it clearly, gain organizational buy-in, and most importantly, execute it.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Senior leadership experience managing multi-location sales teams across North America.
  • Experience leading leaders within manufacturing or building materials.
  • Proven success growing market share in a competitive market.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing a business of significant size, including P&L responsibility.
  • A solid understanding of supply chain, logistics, customer service and commercial operations.
  • Excellent forecasting, business planning and analytical capabilities.
  • The ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills with experience managing complex agreements with national builders, distributors or strategic customers.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills.
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to inspire, coach and develop teams.

Experience with in building materials, insulation, construction products or a related manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
