Overview

As the Specialty Business Manager – IBD, you will be responsible for driving demand for your assigned product by reinforcing the product brand and Takeda value, presenting Takeda’s products and optimizing business opportunities in targeted physician offices, key clinics and hospital accounts that specialize in the area of specified.

Responsibilities
  • Support account onboarding, including education and procedures.
  • Engage in clinical selling activities, delivering the clinical value proposition and advancing customers across a brand belief continuum.
  • Provide initial clinical educational support and in‑service for medical staff (infusion procedures, etc.).
  • Coordinate and support clinical education opportunities and programs for HCPs, such as peer‑to‑peer discussions.
  • Perform account management activities within smaller, less complex GI practices, clinics, outlets, and independent physician offices.
  • Attain sales goals and objectives by delivering specialty product volume and other key metrics in the assigned territory.
  • Execute company brand strategy and tactics within the assigned customer segment.
  • Establish professional working relationships with healthcare providers, decision makers, support staff, and influencers.
  • Present clinical and business information to gastroenterologists, patient groups, and other decision‑makers.
  • Develop and deliver targeted sales messages using accurate clinical information and approved marketing materials.
  • Implement marketing strategies at local level.
  • Build customer engagement by cultivating relationships with key decision makers.
  • Educate self on latest disease state, treatment and business information.
  • Strategically manage all allocated resources.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree.
  • 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device and/or relevant clinical or industry experience (or 2+ years of successful selling experience at Takeda; 5 years preferred).
  • Business and strategic planning skills, identifying unique selling opportunities, adaptability to changing market conditions.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of managed‑care landscape and its impact on business.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Experience with injectable/infused IBD products (preferred).
  • Experience managing complex reimbursement issues (preferred).
  • Biology product launch experience (preferred).
  • Experience calling on gastroenterologists (preferred).Experience discussing therapeutic strategies with decision makers (preferred).
  • Experience applying clinical and business expertise, effective selling skills (preferred).
  • Experience executing local marketing strategies (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in pharmaceutical, biotech, device or healthcare industry (preferred).
Training Requirements

The position and continued employment are contingent upon successfully passing mandatory product training, which includes written and oral examinations. During the training period the employee is classified as non‑exempt and is eligible for overtime only in accordance with applicable law but is not eligible for sales incentive programs. The training period consists of live instruction, independent study, role play, and other activities up to 8 hours per day and 40 hours total in a week.

Upon successful completion the employee is transitioned to exempt status and becomes eligible for incentive programs.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid Driver’s License.

Travel Requirements

Ability to drive and/or fly to meetings and client sites. Some overnight travel required (25–50%). Major Georgia cities include Fayetteville, Augusta, Savannah, Macon, Columbus and Valdosta.

Compensation and Benefits Summary

Location: USA – GA – Virtual
Base Salary Range: $ – $ (actual offer depends on qualifications and experience).
Benefits: Eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits. Eligible for up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
