As a Sales Manager at RPMxpo, you will drive business growth by identifying and securing new opportunities with trade show organizers, corporate event planners, and associations. You will position RPMxpo as the premier General Services Contractor by selling our full suite of services including logistics, floor plan layout, custom graphics, labor management, and equipment rentals.
Key Responsibilities- New Business Development: Prospect, cold-call, and pitch to trade show managers, association executives, and event planners to secure general service contracting partnerships.
- Growth: Help grow RPMxpo’s sales team grow overall revenue 25% in 24 months.
- Consultative Selling: Understand a client’s unique event vision and match it with RPMxpo’s tailored capabilities.
- Single Point of Contact: Bridge the gap between sales and execution. You will stay close to your clients from the initial contract through on-site execution to ensure their expectations are exceeded.
- Proposal & RFP Management: Prepare and present competitive professional proposal responses to RFPs and cost-effective pricing strategies.
- Networking & Industry Presence: Attend industry networking events, local CVB (Convention and Visitors Bureau) functions, and networking events to build a strong pipeline.
- Local Facilities: Communicate with all local facilities and build strong relationships with venues in the Atlanta area.
- Experience: 3+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally within the trade show, hospitality, live events, or exhibition industries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, or a related field, OR equivalent practical sales training and proven closing experience.
- Technology Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) Knowledge of AI and Proposal software a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of trade show industry such as logistics, material handling (drayage), union labor dynamics, and floor plan layouts is highly preferred.
- Relationship-Driven: A proven track record of maintaining long-term clients rather than just one-off transactional sales.
- Communication: Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills. You must be comfortable speaking with decision-makers at all levels.
- Flexibility & Travel: Willingness to travel to event sites and industry events across the Southeast and North America as needed to support your clients on-site.
