About the Opportunity

A rapidly growing global leader in the heavy equipment and construction machinery industry is seeking an accomplished Key Account Manager – Strategic National Accounts to drive direct sales growth and develop long-term relationships with major national and enterprise customers across the United States.

This is a highly visible, growth-oriented opportunity for a proven sales professional who understands the construction equipment market and has demonstrated success developing large, complex accounts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding strategic national accounts while serving as a trusted business partner to key customers. This individual will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to develop customized equipment and fleet solutions that support customers' operational and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans focused on increasing revenue, market penetration, and long-term customer value.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities with large national and multi-location accounts.
  • Manage and expand relationships with key decision-makers, including executive leadership, procurement, fleet management, operations, and equipment management teams.
  • Lead direct sales efforts for construction and heavy equipment solutions within assigned strategic accounts.
  • Build strong relationships across multiple levels of customer organizations and establish trusted-advisor partnerships.
  • Understand customers' fleet strategies, equipment requirements, purchasing cycles, and long-term capital plans.
  • Develop customized commercial solutions, proposals, pricing strategies, and account agreements.
  • Lead complex negotiations involving equipment purchases, fleet programs, and strategic partnerships.
  • Coordinate with internal sales, product, service, parts, finance, and leadership teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of national-account opportunities and provide accurate sales forecasts.
  • Monitor competitive activity, customer trends, and market conditions to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and strategic account reviews.
  • Deliver measurable revenue growth while strengthening customer retention and expanding share of wallet.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, relationship-driven sales professional who understands how to navigate large, complex organizations and convert strategic relationships into sustainable revenue growth.

Successful candidates will ideally bring:

  • 7+ years of progressive B2B sales, key account, national account, or strategic account management experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing large, complex, multi-location customers.
  • Experience with in heavy equipment, construction equipment, equipment rental, industrial equipment, fleet management, or a closely related industry
    .
  • Strong direct-sales and business-development capabilities.
  • Proven ability to develop new accounts and significantly expand existing customer relationships.
  • Experience negotiating high-value equipment or capital-equipment transactions.
  • Established relationships within the construction, infrastructure, rental, industrial, mining, or related markets are highly desirable.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to develop compelling customer value propositions.
  • Excellent executive-level communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across a global organization.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to support strategic customers and business-development activities.
