Pain Regional Account Manager

General/Position Summary The Pain Regional Account Manager is a field-based role responsible for delivering flexible, high-impact coverage across the Pain Business Unit to address territory vacancies, leaves of absence, and priority business needs. The role reports to the Area Field Leader and is deployed based on regional business needs.

Pain Regional Account Managers are deployed dynamically across geographies to maintain business continuity, support priority accounts, and drive execution against commercial objectives. Depending on business need, the role may assume PTAM or TBM responsibilities and is expected to quickly establish continuity across key customer relationships, accounts, and business priorities.

When not covering a vacancy, the role supports surge initiatives, account recovery, new hire onboarding, and other strategic business priorities to help sustain performance and execution across the business.

This role supports priority business needs across the Pain Business Unit through temporary territory deployments that may last approximately 10-12 weeks at a time. While deployed, candidates will live and work within the assigned territory during the week, engaging customers through regular in-territory travel. Employees will be supported to return home on a regular basis, typically weekly, and should be comfortable working in changing geographies and stepping into priority assignments as business needs evolve.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate, flexible coverage across assigned regions in response to territory vacancies, leaves of absence, and other priority business needs.
  • Deploy based on AFL-led prioritization and business need, with input from Regional Field Leaders to ensure continuity across priority territories and accounts.
  • Serve as a trained, deployment-ready field resource capable of stepping quickly into PTAM or TBM coverage assignments with limited ramp time.
  • Assume full ownership of customer engagement, account execution, pull-through activities, and territory planning while deployed.
  • Execute structured handoff and transition processes when entering and exiting assignments to ensure continuity of customer relationships, account plans, and business execution.
  • Support onboarding and ramp-up of newly hired representatives by providing territory knowledge transfer, field-based coaching, and continuity during transition periods.

Account Engagement

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, priority accounts, health systems, and institutional stakeholders as required by deployment assignment.
  • Maintain engagement with priority targets and accounts during vacancy and leave coverage periods to minimize business disruption.
  • Quickly assess new customer environments and identify key stakeholders, opportunities, risks, and execution priorities.
  • Adapt customer engagement strategies based on territory needs, account dynamics, and business objectives.
  • Ensure effective transition of customer ownership, account plans, and business activity to permanent territory ownership at the conclusion of deployment assignments.

Business Planning & Execution

  • Rapidly assess new territories and accounts to identify business priorities, risks, opportunities, and required actions.
  • Execute territory and account plans with minimal transition time while maintaining alignment to commercial objectives.
  • Maintain continuity of business performance during coverage assignments and support recovery efforts where performance has been disrupted.
  • Utilize Veeva and other approved systems to document activity, customer interactions, account plans, and territory updates.
  • Deliver consistent execution across changing territories, customer types, and business priorities.

Collaboration & Operating Model

  • Report directly to the Area Field Leader and partner closely with Regional Field Leaders for territory-specific coaching, deployment support, account planning, and local market context.
  • Collaborate with AFLs, RFLs, Commercial Operations, Training, Marketing, Market Access, Medical, and other cross-functional partners to support business execution.
  • Operate within established deployment, transition, and account ownership guardrails to promote consistency, fairness, and effective field execution.
  • Share best practices, customer insights, and lessons learned across regions based on broad field exposure.
  • Maintain strong communication with field leadership throughout deployment assignments to ensure alignment and execution against priorities.

Training & Capability Development

  • Maintain readiness to assume PTAM or TBM responsibilities across diverse customer environments and geographies.
  • Complete all required deployment-readiness training and remain current on product, disease state, compliance, access, and customer engagement expectations.
