Job Summary
  • An Environmental Laboratory Analyst with 5 to 10 years of experience is responsible for gathering, monitoring, and testing of environmental samples to determine the presence of pollutants and other contaminants.
  • They collect samples from various sources, such as air, water, and soil, analyze them using specialized equipment and techniques.
  • They play a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
  • System Monitoring:
    Monitor environmental systems, such as wastewater treatment, air pollution control, and waste management.
  • Environmental Compliance:
    Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, permits, and standards relevant to the organization's operations.
  • Data Analysis:
    Collect and analyze environmental data, including air and water quality data, to assess environmental conditions, trends, and system performance.
  • Emergency Response:
    Knowledge of emergency response plans for environmental incidents, spills, and accidents.
  • Environmental Documentation:
    Maintain accurate records, permits, and documentation required for environmental compliance and reporting.
  • Qualifications:

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Sciences or associate's degree in chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Environmental Sciences
  • Experience:

    Several years of experience in environmental monitoring and testing, with a strong understanding of environmental regulations and industrial processes.
  • Environmental Regulations:
    Profound knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations, permits, and standards.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency in environmental monitoring equipment, data analysis tools, and environmental modeling software.
  • Communication:
    Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information and compliance requirements.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex environmental challenges and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Attention to Detail:
    Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in environmental documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Teamwork:
    Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve environmental goals.

    Strong analytical thinking to assess environmental data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations.
