Job Summary
The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech & Emory School of Medicine invites applications for a Limited Term (1yr) Research Technician. The Technician must work effectively, respectfully, and collaboratively with a diverse range of students, peers, professional administrative staff, faculty, and campus partners.
Responsibilities- Gather, compile and summarize data in conjunction with assigned scientific tests, experiments, etc.
- Collect and prepare samples for use in assigned tests.
- Prepare statistical analyses and maintain related records.
- Operate various equipment used in research studies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Conducting mouse behavioral training.
- Assisting with fiber photometry and data analysis.
- Performing histological analysis and supporting lab operations.
- Lab manager duties.
Educational Requirements: Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience: One to two years of job related experience.
Preferred Qualifications- A BS/MS in neuroscience, biology, engineering, or related fields.
- Experience in animal behavior, surgery, wet lab techniques including histology, and MATLAB/Python proficiency.
- Excellent organizational skills are essential.
- Basic knowledge of research lab equipment and support processes and practices.
- Skill in data organization, statistical analysis, and use of statistical and scientific computer applications.
Salary range: ~ $44,000.00 Salary commensurate with experience.
Location: Atlanta, GA
Job grade: R01
Position Details: This is not a supervisory position. This position does not have financial responsibilities. No driving required. This role is not a position of trust. Does not require a purchasing card. No travel. No security clearance.
