Job Summary
Performs a variety of complex duties in a clinical study, basic science or research laboratory in support of research initiatives; develops and evaluates new techniques and procedures; may coordinate activities of support staff.
Responsibilities- Participate in the preparation coordination of experiments and procedures, including caring for rodents, performing functional testing, scoring videos, serving as a surgery assistant, assisting with ordering, maintaining lab equipment and logbooks, archiving specimens, and supporting research team efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, social sciences, natural sciences, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area and experience in a research or clinical setting.
- OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in the same fields and a minimum of three years of experience in a research or clinical area.
Some previous experience with social/behavioral science (public health) research is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to work on campus.
- Ability to use sound judgement and work independently.
Shift: Days/M-F
Pay Band: B5
Salary Range: $17.88/hourly - $17.94/hourly
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum‑midpoint) of the position.
Recruitment Period: 6/10/26 - Until Filled

Conditions of Employment- All selected candidates must successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
- Depending on the duties, the candidate may need a credit check for Positions of Trust or approval for departmental Purchase Card usage.
- Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that require driving an Augusta University vehicle.
- Faculty hires must provide proof of completed academic degree(s) and post‑secondary coursework in the form of original transcripts. Candidates trained by a foreign institution must provide an educational/credential evaluation.
