This position involves organizing and maintaining a Drosophila laboratory, performing genetic experiments, and supervising undergraduate workers. The technician also supports molecular biology work and data analysis.

• Oversee maintenance and husbandry of Drosophila stocks.
• Maintain lab supplies, cleanliness, and equipment.
• Supervise and monitor undergraduate students conducting research.
• Perform DNA cloning and other molecular techniques as required.
• Set up and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, and report results to the principal investigator.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field and experience in a research or clinical setting.
• OR
• Associate’s degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of experience in a research or clinical setting.

• Experience in molecular biology and statistical analyses.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Detail-oriented.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

• Shift: Days, Monday–Friday.
• Pay Band: B5.
• Salary Range: $17.88–$17.95 hourly (commensurate with qualifications).

• Successful completion of a background check prior to starting.
