TEMP-Lab​/Research Support; Aerospace Engineering

Job Summary

Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory, including performing analyses, setting up, operating, maintaining, and cleaning equipment, and maintaining stock of supplies. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. This position will interact consistently with academic and research faculty members, staff, and students, advise and counsel lab users, and will not supervise any staff.

• Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records.
• Set up laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.
• Clean instruments, glassware, and other lab equipment as needed.
• Prepare and process laboratory samples for assigned tests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma, GED certificate, or vocational school diploma.
• Experience:
  
  Up to two years of job‑related experience.
• Skills:
  
  Working knowledge of instrumentation and lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures specific to assigned lab; inventory management and use of specialized computer applications.

• Position is not supervisory.
• There are no financial responsibilities.
• Driving is not required.
• The role is not considered a position of trust.
• No purchasing card (P‑Card) is required.
• Travel is not required.
• No security clearance is required.
