Andrology Technician

Love science, hate standing still? Learn the craft of andrology, while helping families.

At Xytex you'll learn andrology (semen processing) from the ground up, in a lab where precision counts and every employee is an owner. This is an entry-level role and we'll train you, so you don't need andrology experience to apply. $25.50/hour starting pay, plus shares in the company through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

You’ll work between our Midtown office (730 Peachtree St NE) and Marietta (709 Canton Rd) and Lawrenceville (771 Old Norcross Rd) with a rotating schedule. You’ll report to our Laboratories Manager.

• Perform semen evaluations on samples from donors and donor candidates
• Process and cryopreserve donor samples and check every label for accuracy
• Work safely with liquid nitrogen and look after our storage tanks
• Run daily and monthly quality control checks and keep careful records
• Help with inventory and with shipping samples to our central biorepository
• Prepare samples for reference lab testing and draw blood from donors (we’ll train you in phlebotomy)
• Bring ideas. If you spot a better way to run a workflow, track inventory or cut down on errors, we want to hear it, and we’ll help you test it the right way.

• A Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science or medical technology
• 0–1 year of lab experience. Andrology experience is a plus, but we’ll train you.
• Careful attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols exactly
• Comfort with Microsoft Office and basic lab math (percentages, ratios, proportions)
• Reliable transportation to rotate between our three Atlanta-area offices
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with liquid nitrogen while wearing protective equipment
• A team mindset and a real interest in reproductive science
