Security Guard

The Georgia State University Police Department is seeking Security Guards to join our team in maintaining a safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and neighbors. We offer flexible scheduling, comprehensive benefits, and professional development opportunities.

• Operates on a 24/7 basis with flexibility for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Performs security duties for the protection of GSU property and personal property, and provides personal protection
• Works under general supervision of Police Department Supervisors
• Multiple campuses have openings currently

• High school diploma or GED, no felony convictions
• Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation and pre‑employment drug screen

• Knowledge of standard security practices and procedures
• Ability to patrol assigned areas and perform foot patrols
• Requires walking for long periods of time, as well as up and down stairs
• May require sitting or standing at a stationary assignment for long periods of time
• Flexible schedule, with 24/7 operation
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills
