The Manager of Research Security is tasked with developing and implementing security protocols to protect sensitive research data and facilities from potential threats. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of security measures and compliance standards to ensure personnel safety and the integrity of research activities. The role assists in developing and implementing compliance programs for federal regulations, serves as a liaison between academic units and administrative offices, and is responsible for setting employee goals and managing performance.

• Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures to protect sensitive research data and facilities from unauthorized access and threats.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to evaluate existing security measures, including risk assessments of international collaborations, foreign visitors, and proposals.
• Monitor security incidents and breaches, conduct investigations, and coordinate response efforts to mitigate risks.
• Provide risk mitigation training and awareness programs for employees, faculty, students, and staff.
• Prepare and present reports on security incidents, risks, and compliance to senior management.
• Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry standards, updating institutional policies accordingly.
• Collaborate with Information Technology and research teams to integrate security protocols into research processes and technologies.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three or more years of relevant experience, including at least one year of supervisory experience.

• Basic knowledge of federal research security regulations (e.g., NSPM-33, CMMC).
• 5+ years of experience in research administration, compliance, or a related area.
• Strong organizational skills and diligence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and departments.
• Experience with project coordination and stakeholder engagement.

Anticipated salary range: $95,271 to $161,008 (commensurate with qualifications).
