Shift Supervisor Public Safety - Atlanta

Responsibilities

Frontline supervision of all assigned security functions and Public Safety staff. Coordinates all routine and emergency security activities as assigned by policy or management. Enforces all PHC regulations and applicable state and federal laws. Advocates crime prevention and a secure work environment through observation, interaction, and intervention. Responsible for the safe de‑escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects.

First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Supervise and develop junior officers.

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) – Required

Work Experience

• 4 years general security, military or other public safety experience required, with at least 2 years in a role requiring active firearm carry.
• Equivalent training and job experience to demonstrate responsible handling of weapons and use of force.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid driver’s license (DL) in the state of Georgia; must adhere to Piedmont’s Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program (policy 3500).
• Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (IAHSS) within 1 year.
• Carry non‑lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton.
• Carry company‑issued firearm.
• Pass pre‑employment psychological screening.
• Maintain all training requirements to remain employed, including certifications in firearms, Taser, ASP baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed.
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification – Preferred.
