Unarmed Security Guard

Summary:

The security guard reports to the sergeant and is responsible for the safety and security of our premises. In this position, you will prevent theft, violence, and infraction of rules by maintaining a highly visible presence and preventing all illegal or inappropriate actions. You must detect, deter, observe, and report all issues to increase overall safety.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in area specialty.
• Experience in the most current technologies and products used in the industry.
• Must be able to receive and maintain a GA Unarmed Security License within 6 months of employment.
• Available to be on call 24/7. Schedule must be flexible. Work week may exceed 40 hours per week.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Proficient working knowledge of computers and other electronics that may be used on your assigned post.
• Must have proven people and leadership skills.
• Demonstrates effective problem solving/analytical skills and pays attention to details.

• Monitor the company’s property and maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Watch for signs of crime or disorder; investigate disturbances.
• Act lawfully at all times in direct defense of life or property.
• Act as a constituent presence to deter criminals.
• Evict violators of rules and regulations.
• Report any suspicious/unusual occurrences to authorities and management.
• Patrol premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeter.
• Monitor and control access to building entrances and vehicle gates.
• Operate metal detectors and x-ray machines, as needed.
• Monitor alarm systems and video cameras.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This position has no direct supervisory duties.

This job operates in different environments to include hotels, industrial facilities, residential neighborhoods. This position requires walking, lifting, carrying, and kneeling.

This is a part-time position working regularly scheduled shifts.

Local travel from site to site may be required.
