Security Officer - PT

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a Campus Security (P/T) position in the Public Safety Division, located at ATC’s Main Campus in southern Atlanta.

• Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety of campus buildings and grounds.
• Manage traffic flow and enforce parking regulations.
• Contact Campus Police for incidents such as traffic accidents, vandalism, theft, and other criminal acts.
• Perform administrative duties, including checking buildings for unauthorized personnel during opening and after closing hours.
• Work independently, make common sense decisions, and follow policy.
• Serve as a courteous and informative public relations representative to faculty, students, and visitors.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance coverage.
• Reliable access to an automobile.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical materials, and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and instructional materials.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from students, managers, and the general public.
• Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete and abstract ideas.
• Availability to work weekends, weekdays, evenings, mornings, and on-call as required.

• Regularly required to talk, listen, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate equipment and computers.
• May lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities: distance, close, color, peripheral vision; depth perception; the ability to adjust focus.

All applicants selected will receive on-the-job training in operating alarm systems, checking campus doors and buildings, and writing security reports.
