The roles of Guard, Patrol, and Usher are responsible for ensuring safety and security, maintaining the cleanliness and order of the venue, and providing excellent guest service throughout events. These positions require vigilance, customer service skills, and adherence to safety and sustainability practices.
ResponsibilitiesGuard / Patrol Responsibilities:
- Guard, patrol, and/or monitor the venue premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
- Circulate among guests and/or employees to preserve safety, order, and protect venue property.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, guests, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security and safety of the premises.
- May write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Escort or drive motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations or provide personal protection.
- Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
- Show care by participating in the venue’s sustainability program, implementing programs that conserve resources and prevent waste, such as sorting waste, collecting recycling, and educating fans.
- Partner with team members at the end of the show to close the venue, including collecting recyclables from the lawn and/or reserved section, and properly storing event equipment.
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises.
Usher / Guest Service Responsibilities:
- Greet guests, scan guest tickets upon entry, answer questions, assist guests with locating seats, and examine tickets for entry at various seat levels.
- Assist in keeping the venue safe, clean, and presentable.
- Resolve guest complaints or problems.
- Examine tickets or passes to verify authenticity.
- Provide assistance to guests with special needs, such as seat accommodations.
- Show care by participating in venue recycling efforts before, during, and after the show.
- Guide guests to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency.
- May assist in verifying staff credentials to generally restricted areas.
- Partner with team members at the end of the show to close the venue, including collecting recyclables and storing event equipment.
- Assist patrons by giving directions to places inside or outside the venue.
- Ensure guests are safely enjoying the show.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 1+ year in a guest service role preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
- Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, occasional sitting, lifting, and carrying 25 lbs or more.
