SECURITY OFFICER I – ARMED (Testing Required)
There are positions available at five separate locations:
All are Full-Time, ON-SITE.
PLEASE NOTE:
The Security Team Lead will assign successful new team members either Day (6A to 6P) or Night shift (6P to 6A) positions, depending on location & need.
You must be 21 years old to apply.
All candidates must be available to work shift work, holidays, overtime, during inclement weather, call out and be able to work at designated Company locations.
MUST pass the following prerequisites: psychological test, firearms qualification, physical, drug test, and Internal Threat Program (for designated security positions).
JOB SUMMARYThe Security Officer protects personnel, assets, and interests throughout the Company’s footprint, employing armed physical security tactics, screenings, highly technical security event monitoring, and security event response.
JOB REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's or associate degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum 3 years law enforcement, military, private or industrial security experience.
- Valid state firearm permit and driver’s license.
- Must qualify for firearm use to be hired, and re-qualify annually with the semi-auto pistol and shotgun.
- Ability to obtain and remain licensed through the Georgia Secretary of State – Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies.
- Valid driver’s license with at least one year of verifiable driving experience. No revocation of driving privileges within 36 months, no convictions of major traffic violations within 12 months, and no pending charges for major traffic violations.
- Must consent to continuous monitoring of motor vehicle records.
- Ability to drive a Georgia Power fleet vehicle if selected.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Use of software such as CCURE and Avigilon Video Management System.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other computer systems.
- Make decisions with minimal direct supervision within the prescribed policies and procedures.
- Respond to complex technical inquiries regarding access application systems.
- Coordinate with Operating Company and Corporate Security groups.
- Evaluate and determine appropriate action in response to Physical Security Perimeter (PSP) intrusion events.
- Use sound logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Handle a variety of individuals under highly stressful situations and perform various tasks simultaneously while working as a team.
- Build effective working relationships and communicate actively.
- Multi-task and perform computer data entry while callers are on the phone.
- Keep current with relevant technology and engage in continuous learning.
- Demonstrate strong ethics and handle sensitive or confidential information.
- Enforce policies and procedures.
- Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
- Wear and maintain personal protection equipment.
- Perform physical activity including running, walking, and lifting.
