Security Officer - ARMED (5 Locations - FT On‑Site, Testing Required)

All positions are Full‑Time, On‑Site.
Shift assignments (Day or Night) will be assigned by the Security Team Lead based on location needs.

Job Summary: The Security Officer protects personnel, assets, and interests throughout the Company’s footprint using armed physical security tactics, screenings, and technical security event monitoring and response.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
- Training certification reflecting knowledge of industry standards.
- Minimum 3 years of law enforcement, military, private, or industrial security experience preferred.
- Must pass psychological test, drug test, firearms evaluation, and Internal Threat Program (for designated security positions).
- Must qualify for and re‑qualify annually with a semi‑automatic pistol and shotgun.
- Must obtain a valid state firearm permit and driver’s license.
- Must maintain appropriate licensing through the Georgia Secretary of State – Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies.
- Must be willing to work shift work, holidays, overtime, inclement weather, and call‑out as required.
- Must be able to work at designated Company locations (Atlanta, Forest Park, McDonough or Jackson).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Major
Job Responsibilities:
- Use software house CCURE and Avigilon Video Management System (VMS) software for security operations.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Make decisions with minimal supervision following policies and procedures.
- Respond to complex technical inquiries regarding access application systems.
- Evaluate and determine appropriate actions for Physical Security Perimeter (PSP) intrusion events.
- Apply logical reasoning to identify alternative solutions and approaches.
- Manage stressful situations and perform tasks simultaneously while working as a team.
- Maintain ethical behavior and handle sensitive or confidential information.
- Enforce policies and procedures while maintaining personnel and vehicle traffic control.
- Wear and maintain personal protection equipment.
- Perform physical activity, including running, walking, and lifting.
- Enter computer data while interacting with callers.
- Stay current with relevant technology and engage in continuous learning.
This position requires the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. Requirements:
- At least one year of verifiable driving experience and a valid driver’s license for the class of vehicle operated. Driving permits are not considered valid.
- No revocation of driving privileges within the last 36 months and no major traffic violations (DUI, hit-and-run, reckless driving, etc.) within the last 12 months. No pending charges for major traffic violations.
- Consent to continuous monitoring of the Motor Vehicle Record.
