A well-established Fire Protection and Life Safety Contractor serving the Atlanta metro area is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to install, service, test, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems across commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects. This role offers steady work, growth opportunities, and exposure to a wide range of life safety and low-voltage systems.
Key Responsibilities- Install, program, service, test, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA 72
, local AHJ requirements, and manufacturer specifications. - Perform inspections, acceptance testing, and routine maintenance of fire alarm systems.
- Diagnose and repair system issues, including panels, devices, wiring, and communication circuits.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and fire alarm drawings.
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, general contractors, and customers.
- Document inspections, deficiencies, repairs, and test results accurately and timely.
- Support system upgrades, retrofits, and system expansions.
- Follow all company safety policies and jobsite procedures.
- Installation and service experience with Access Control systems (card readers, door hardware, controllers).
- Experience with CCTV / Video Surveillance systems
. - Experience with Burglar / Intrusion Alarm systems
. - Familiarity with integrated or networked life safety and security systems.
- 2+ years of hands-on fire alarm installation and service experience.
- Strong understanding of NFPA 72
, fire alarm devices, circuits, and system operation. - Experience working with commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, or multi-family facilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot independently in the field.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- NICET Level I or II in Fire Alarm Systems preferred (or ability to obtain).
- Georgia low-voltage or fire alarm license a plus (or ability to obtain).
