Description
We are accepting applications for Travel Technicians to work at various locations across the United States. This role is 100% travel and involves installing low voltage wiring and equipment such as IP cameras, wireless access points, routers, switches, and more. Candidates will travel 2–8 months at a time and must be self‑starters who can work well with a partner 6 days a week.
Responsibilities- Pull and terminate low voltage cable.
- Install network equipment within commercial settings.
- Follow instructions and code when pulling cable.
- Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
- Ensure all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
- Install cable support structures such as j‑hooks, cable racks, and inner duct.
- Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.
- Troubleshoot issues with the cable network.
- Perform any other duties not specifically listed herein as assigned by a supervisor.
- Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by the client, their customers, or OSHA.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience as a Data Cable Technician.
- Availability for extensive travel nationwide.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Capability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more multiple times per shift.
- Ability to work in cramped spaces.
- Availability for project hours 7 pm – 7 am, 5 days a week.
- Willingness to travel to Lowell, AR for new hire orientation.
- 100% travel across the USA.
- Ability to operate a scissor lift and work at heights.
- Proficiency in filling out work orders and maintaining tools provided by the office.
- Adherence to PPE requirements (hard hat, vest, safety glasses provided; own steel‑toed boots).
- Familiarity with tools: hand tools, screwdrivers (standard and Phillips), snips, punch down (impact), toner and probe, pliers, adjustable wrenches, joint pliers, and lineman pliers.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
- Pay range: $19.00 – $22.00/hr.
- Per‑Diem paid $125 a day for food and lodging.
