Job Description
The Electrical Service Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality electrical service, troubleshooting, and repair work to clients across commercial settings, including schools and municipalities. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and team members.
Key Responsibilities- Perform electrical service, troubleshooting, and repairs in commercial environments.
- Work directly with schools, municipalities, and other clients to understand service needs.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to electrical wiring, equipment failures, and safety hazards.
- Complete work orders, service logs, and written documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain strong client relationships through professionalism, communication, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with team members to complete jobs efficiently and safely.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations.
- Participate in on-call rotations (as needed).
- 8+ years of electrical service technician experience in commercial environments.
- Proven experience working with schools and municipal clients.
- Deep understanding of electrical wiring, circuits, troubleshooting methods, and code compliance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to follow up and close out service needs accurately and promptly.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Experience in operating a service truck/ van.
- State electrical license or certification (if applicable).
- Experience with electrical safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Field-based with travel to client sites.
- May require lifting, climbing, and working in tight spaces, depending on the service job.
- Reliable, thorough service work.
- Strong rapport with clients and internal team members.
- Consistent follow-through on service tickets and assignments.
- Clear, timely communication at every stage of a job.
