Video/Tech Trainee

- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Zero to one (1) year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Proficiency in English written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Strong technical aptitude with ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve problems; work independently and as part of a team
- Professionally represent Ryder to employees and customers
- Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills
- Good attendance and track record of performance
- Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office familiarity
- Beginner level knowledge of machines and tools; shop management systems knowledge preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
- DOT safety regulated position; safety sensitive
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test, a DOT physical, a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug/alcohol verification for the last three years
Important Note:
Some positions may require additional screening including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or customer-specific requirements.
- Move heavy duty vehicles and perform fueling, washing, and minor maintenance following safety policies
- Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units and report issues
- Maintain fuel island area and assist with facility maintenance
- Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements, including hands-on and online training
- Other duties as assigned
