Position Description
The Carpenter is responsible for the full range of rough and/or finished skilled carpentry work, including fitting and joining, wood and other materials by applying the appropriate techniques in accordance with product specifications and schedules. The Carpenter will work from engineering drawings, specifications, and work order instructions on daily tasks to maintain the facility to the highest standards. This is a full‑time hourly position requiring flexible schedules – possible first and second shift rotation – based at Mercedes‑Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Use industry‑accepted construction methods, materials, hardware, tools, and equipment for rough and finished carpentry in a commercial/industrial setting.
- Measure, cut, assemble, install, or repair tools & equipment, office furniture, wall partitions, cabinets, counters, trim, molding, floor and ceiling tile, and other commercial building finishes.
- Install structures and fixtures such as windows, frames, flooring, hardware; frame out and repair walls, set door frames, install ceilings, adjust, rebuild, or replace door hardware (locksets, hinges, door closers).
- Install racking, shelving, cabinets, signage, banners.
- Participate in show and production fabrication directed by the Facilities Maintenance Manager or Director of Stadium Operations.
- Set up and safely operate equipment: table saws, hand power tools, chop saws, routers, belt sanders, nail guns, staple guns, etc.
- Design and construct templates or fixtures to efficiently fabricate repeatable components.
- Willingness to cross‑train and perform other job tasks.
- Plan and organize work, anticipate material needs, forecast time and supplies.
- Coordinate with other trades and warehouse personnel for proper materials and parts.
- Perform lower‑classified duties such as CMMS processing or workplace cleanup.
- Work in multiple environments (heat, cold, noise, etc.) and high locations with proper PPE.
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, equipment service manuals.
- Inspect and certify work complies with safety and organizational policies; comply with OSHA regulations, MSDS, safety precautions.
- Respond to and coordinate emergency calls as necessary.
- Maintain a clean work environment and proper upkeep of all company tools.
- Work alongside other stadium staff with ice/snow removal duties when necessary.
A high school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.). A minimum of six (6) years’ experience with carpentry in commercial facilities 1 million square feet or more. Journeymen carpenter preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations- OSHA 10
- Master Carpenter’s license (preferred but not necessary)
- Forklift operator certification
- Equipment lift certification
- Customer‑service oriented and maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times.
- Awareness of working environment; pick up trash, wrappers, paper, litter, or any other debris you see to keep the building clean at all times.
- Availability for approximately 75% of events held at Mercedes‑Benz Stadium, including Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC soccer, concerts, etc.; available for nights, weekends and holidays.

- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, meet tight deadlines and function under stress.

- Enjoy speaking and interacting with others in a warm, friendly, and respectful manner.
- Availability to attend all necessary training as a prerequisite for employment.
- Ability to stand, walk or walk up and down stairs throughout an event.
- Ability to operate software on a mobile platform.
- Ability to read and comprehend manuals, blueprints, sketches, and drawings.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at high elevations.
- Basic knowledge of physical plan operations (advanced knowledge preferred).
