Job Title: Industrial Power Generator Field Technician
Location: Local Service Area (No Regional Travel)
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Industrial Power Generator Field Technician to service, troubleshoot, and repair diesel and natural gas generator systems within a local service territory. This position is home nightly and supports industrial, commercial, and municipal customers in the area.
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on industrial generator systems (diesel and natural gas)
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues
- Perform load bank testing, start-ups, commissioning, and preventive maintenance
- Service generators from manufacturers such as Cummins, CAT, Kohler, Generac, MTU, Detroit Diesel, and similar
- Complete service reports, documentation, and customer communication
- Respond to local emergency service calls and participate in an on-call rotation
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and service equipment
- 3+ years of experience working on industrial or commercial power generators
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and generator controls
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience with ATS, switch gear, and paralleling systems is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Factory training or OEM certifications (Cummins, CAT, Kohler, Generac) preferred
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Ability to climb, kneel, and work in confined spaces
