HVAC Service Technician
Seeking HVAC service technicians experienced with commercial facilities for a direct hire opportunity with our client, a top-tier mechanical construction and service provider, in Atlanta, GA.
This position offers full benefits including PTO, medical, dental, and 401k!
Payrate for this role is between $35-$45+ per hour (based on experience).
Overtime!
Company vehicle.
Weekly bonus when on call.
Responsibilities for commercial HVAC technician:
- Provide service and maintenance to customers in a defined market with a diverse commercial base, such as schools, hospitals, and manufacturing plants.
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems from 20 to 100 tons units for Trane and other brands.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, and service requests including replacement, and modifications of equipment or systems as needed or requested by customers.
- Uses cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units, as well as proposed retrofits, upgrades, and or enhancements to existing systems.
Qualifications for HVAC technician:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in commercial HVAC service; or equivalent combination of education (technical school) and experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment up to 100 tons.
- Must have proficiency with operating and working handheld computers (i.e. smartphone, iPad).
- EPA certification preferred.
Physical requirements:
- This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
- It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 pounds.
- Employees must be able to climb ladders.
- This position requires working in diverse conditions including, but not limited to, mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
