Job Summary
Cox Fleet is currently hiring a Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician to join our recently acquired company, Corcoran Fleet Services, to support our combined future growth. The technician will perform preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, diagnostics, licensed DOT inspections, and other duties at customer locations. Experience with light/medium duty vehicles (F150, F250, F350) and ability to travel 100% of the time are required.
Key Responsibilities- Work on various light/medium duty vehicles such as F150, F250, F350 and specialty equipment.
- Travel to customer locations, performing scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, battery checks, lubricating equipment.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, lifts, and jacks as needed.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronic, diesel steering, transmission, clutch, differential systems.
- Inspect, test, and listen for malfunctions using scanners and pressure gauges.
- Determine parts needed, order, and pick up parts for installation.
- Maintain compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- Document work on Repair Orders, upload pictures, complete DOT forms.
- Clean and maintain work environment and tool area.
- Communicate with support team for repair estimates and purchase orders.
- Participate in all required safety training and maintain assigned service vehicle.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Possess a set of hand tools necessary for the role.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an automotive technician on light/medium vehicles or equivalent combination of education/certification/experience.
- 2 years of equivalent experience in a similar technician role.
- Participate in and complete all company-required training.
- Understand implications of new information for problem solving and decision-making.
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; perform moderate heavy labor.
- Physical endurance for repetitive tasks.
- Communicate information succinctly and organize thoughts.
- Determine tools and equipment needed for tasks.
- Accurately judge distances and object positions.
- Use logic and reasoning to evaluate solutions.
Production‑based pay: $20.10 – $30.10 per flag hour. Eligible for commission and incentive programs. Technical training provided. Dedicated career path – over 50% of front‑line managers are promoted from within. Minimum 6.67 hours paid time off per month, seven paid holidays, additional PTO for bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer, military, and parental leave.
