Responsibilities

• Train as an apprentice and work on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
• Participate in certified training through the Service Technical Academy to build skill sets for future recognition, rewards, and advancement.
• Develop troubleshooting and customer‑service skills through coaching and mentorship.
• Keep Johnson Controls, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues as needed.
• Meet attendance requirements for required union training during the first year.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

• Member of, or willing to join, the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
• One or more years of industry experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities‑management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
• Leadership skills to support the activities of mechanics on non‑complex, non‑critical HVAC equipment on a job site.
• Self‑starter who can ultimately work independently.
• Prioritise safety in all activities.
• Valid driver’s license.

• One to two years of trade‑school or college in a technical emphasis.

Hourly rate of $21‑$31, determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
