MINISTRY POSITION
Title: Electrician

Reports To: Manager, Facilities
Position Summary
The Electrician will be responsible for the installation, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with the National Electrical Code and other relevant codes.
Ministerial Function
As a member of the First Baptist Atlanta (FBA) staff, this position is a ministry role. While performing Electrician job duties, the employee is expected to support and advance the mission of the Church.

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or control wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.Disconnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code.Advise the Facilities Manager on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as AC/DC Multimeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.Follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.Document electrical circuits encountered in maintenance and repairs to continually update electrical drawings.Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, and power tools.Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.Install conduit, boxes, fittings, wire, and metal clad cable inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, for power to new lighting, receptacles and electrical devices and equipment.Ability to work safely using lockout and tagout procedures.Additional Duties
