HVAC Engineer

Pay Rate: $30-32/HR on W2

Hours:

M-F 8am - 5pm, with potential OT if systems go down

Location:

230 John Wesley Dobbs, Atlanta

Overview of Work Environment/Client Nuances:
Candidate will work across 3 different buildings and drive to and from each building
- Company vehicle will be available or personal vehicle can be used. Uniform will be provided. Client facing role.

Team Overview:
Candidate will be working as part of team with 2 other technicians. Resources' typical working day:
Mini-splits, maintaining traditional splits - 2 ton - 4 ton units, VFR maintenance - rooftop unit, chiller with cooling tower maintenance, heat pumps, general maintenance tasks as needed, maintaining client PM's - changing filters, fan belts, condensate units.

Licenses/Certifications:

Driver's license, Universal License

Must Have

Skills:

General maintenance skills, commercial HVAC experience

Nice to have skills:
If candidate has their own tools, that would be helpful

Soft Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Daily documentation of work done will be required. Highly professional attitude. Excellent customer service skills

About the Role:

As a HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for complex commercial HVAC systems by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Assign tasks to team members. Ensure all duties are done in a timely manner.
  • Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
