This is an excellent opportunity for experienced technicians to work hands-on with advanced Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and battery systems, ensuring reliable power for essential operations across diverse industries. As a key member of the technical services team, you will play a vital role in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical power infrastructure.
The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to lead projects, mentor junior technicians, and further develop your technical expertise while collaborating with contractors, partners, and clients to deliver high-quality results.
- Perform startups, certifications, preventative maintenance, and scheduled maintenance on UPS and battery systems.
- Independently install, troubleshoot, repair, start up, and commission all types of UPS systems.
- Lead projects with multiple crew members, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with general contractors, subcontractors, partners, and clients to ensure project success.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as UPS systems, battery systems, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and AC/DC rectifiers.
- Assess manpower and material requirements for maintenance and installation services.
- Estimate consumables and connectivity parts needed for project completion.
- Monitor crew safety and productivity, taking action as needed to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Foster a positive team environment and mentor less experienced technicians.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with internal teams and clients.
- Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience servicing UPS systems, including installation and maintenance.
- Experience with electrical and mechanical systems related to UPS, DC systems, and major OEMs (such as Eaton, Mitsubishi, Schneider, APC, GE, Emerson).
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, including digital multimeters, amp clamps, phase rotation meters, power quality analyzers, IR cameras, and oscilloscopes.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC theory, electronic components, and circuitry.
- Competency in series, parallel, and series-parallel connections.
- Understanding of torque values, torque-mark application, and visual inspection of installations.
- Ability to operate safely and use appropriate PPE, including arc-flash suits.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
- NFPA-70E Safety Training.
- Thermography Level 2 or higher certification.
- US Citizenship required.
