This position is located in the Metro Atlanta area with specific job sites changing daily. Traffic Flaggers will be responsible for making sure the correct signage is out at every lane closure / site and that devices are being use to maintain traffic flow In a safe and effective manner. This position will provide a strong flagger presence on site by wearing high visibility clothing and using the correct traffic control equipment.
KEYDUTIES
- Performs traffic control and flagging activities as needed
- Operates pickup truck(not requiring a commercial driver-s license), and miscellaneous hand
- Controlling traffic in work zones on public roads
- Your responsibilities are to employ traffic control devices to divert pedestrians and drivers,monitor the repair of roads to ensure safety.
- Installing and removing traffic control devices (cones, signs, barricades,etc)
- Drives customer service initiatives by creating and owning the patient experience
- Acting with responsibility for the safety of the public and co-workers by following established safety practices/procedures and responding quicklyin the event ofan emergency
- Working outdoors in all kinds of weather, wearing high visibility clothing and appropriate safety equipment
- Set up and break down lane closures and other sites as needed
- Willingness to work in a team environment andassistco-workers and/or supervisors with other duties as required
- ATSSA Flagger certificate or equivalent highly preferred
- Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with visitors, contractors, and fellow flaggers
The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Traffic Control Flagger to effectively perform the essential functions of this job.
- Constant physical effort, including standing, isrequiredduring a regular work shift of at least ten hours per shift.
- Flaggermust be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch asrequiredto perform Key Duties.
- Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
- Manual dexterity to hand-carry battery packs, other powertoolsand hand tools.
- Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.

- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Work environment periodically exposes the employees tohigh levelsof noise that is typically associated with a construction project.
