The Client Resource Specialist plays a critical role in supporting men as they transition into Atlanta Mission's long-term transformation program at The Shepherd's Inn. This position focuses on removing practical and systemic barriers to stability and employment by providing individualized case management, resource coordination, and client advocacy within a Christ-centered environment. Support begins at program entry through background checks and job readiness assessments and continues throughout a client's stay.
The Client Resource Specialist works closely with clients to address challenges related to employability, identification, legal barriers, financial assistance, and access to community resources. This role also includes teaching life skills, facilitating groups, utilizing motivational interviewing, and offering spiritual encouragement as part of a holistic care model. This position is ideal for a human or social services professional who enjoys direct client engagement and case management but is not pursuing a licensed social work career path.
Client Assessment & Case Management
- Conducts client assessments, including background checks and job-readiness evaluations, to identify barriers and needed services
- Utilizes assessments to recommend personalized services that support employability, stability, and long-term outcomes
- Manages a high-volume caseload (approximately 70–90 clients), providing consistent follow-up and accountability
- Leads services addressing client case management needs throughout their program journey
Employment & Resource Support
- Supports clients in resolving background check issues that may impact employment, including coordination with legal partners such as Georgia Justice Project
- Assists clients in obtaining required identification documents for employment (state , Social Security cards, etc.)
- Connects clients with internal and external resources including vocational training, housing, legal services, healthcare, and financial assistance
- Provides job-search support following vocational training, such as resume workshops, job application assistance, and group office hours
Community Partnerships & Advocacy
- Builds and maintains relationships with community partners to secure resources that meet client needs
- Researches and identifies new service partners to address gaps in client care
- Serves as a liaison between clients, community agencies, and government entities
Groups, Education & Engagement
- Facilitates groups and classes focused on independent living, financial literacy, social skills, recovery support, and psycho-education
- Utilizes motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client engagement, personal responsibility, and positive behavior change
- Provides adjustment support during life transitions and consults during crisis situations
Team Collaboration & Documentation
- Coordinates closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic, client-centered care
- Inputs, tracks, and reports client engagement and outcome data with accuracy and integrity
- Remains current on available community resources and referral processes

Position Requirements:
- Experience in case management, client advocacy, or human/social services
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively
- Crisis intervention experience
- Proven ability to work as a self-starter with strong organization, time management, and follow-through
