The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Morehouse School of Medicine seeks an Adjunct Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Psychiatry who is board-certified or board-eligible in General Psychiatry. The successful candidate should be community-oriented with a demonstrated commitment to advancing mental health equity through clinical care, education, and scholarship. The position includes clinical work at a behavioral health crisis center, resident teaching, and supervision of nurse practitioners.

Medical student teaching is also possible.

• Engage in teaching, scholarship, and clinical service in psychiatry and behavioral sciences aligned with departmental needs and the faculty member’s interests.
• Participate in administrative duties on departmental, UME, and/or GME committees as applicable.
• Provide psychiatric care in a behavioral health crisis center.
• Supervise Crisis Center Nurse Practitioners.
• Participate in patient safety and quality improvement activities.
• Contribute to scholarly activities and the educational mission.

• Direct Report – Crisis Unit Medical Director

• MD or DO degree
• Unrestricted Georgia Medical License
• Board Certification in Psychiatry or board-eligible
• Strong interpersonal, clinical, and professional skills

• Psychiatry resident and Nurse Practitioner supervision experience
• Acute psychiatric care experience
