General Nature of Work
- Provide 50% billable services to individuals on an assigned case load.
- Provide 70% billable services to individuals on an assigned case load.
- Be in compliance with service guidelines.
- Complete documentation within 24 hours.
- Help people reengage in services.
- Monitor service delivery authorization, ensure caseload accuracy, and use time for travel, scheduling and activities needed to ensure successful face‑to‑face appointments.
- Attend agency‑required training, supervision, and meetings scheduled by supervisor.
- Keep up with essential learning to perform assigned work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent and any combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities in advocacy, advisory or governance, and one (1) continuous year as a current or former recipient of treatment (including mental health/substance abuse treatment or diagnosis). Must be certified as a Peer Specialist by the Georgia Department of Human Resources.
OtherDesired Qualifications
- Preference for candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in a human services area, a Certified Peer Specialist designation, and one year of experience at the Certified Peer Specialist level or at a position with similar duties.
- Preference for candidates with one year of experience at the SST‑2 level with a Certified Peer Specialist designation.
- Preference for candidates with five years of experience at the Certified Peer Specialist level.
- A pre‑employment physical is required for appointment to the position.
- A fingerprint criminal records investigation is required for appointment to the position.
- Pre‑employment drug testing and random alcohol/drug testing are required for appointment to the position.
- Males between 18 and 26 years of age must present proof of registration with the Selective Service System as required by federal law or proof of exemption from such registration.
- An official transcript from the college that granted the candidate’s hours and/or degree is required. The transcript (Primary Source) must be furnished to the Personnel Department with application materials.
