Principal Engineer

Job Purpose

ICE Data Services is seeking a hands-on Solution Architect. The candidate will demonstrate strong experience in systems architecture, systems integration, problem solving, solution and algorithm design, communication, team leading, and mentoring. The candidate should be fully versed in the latest trends of common computing frameworks including, but not limited to, Spring MVC, Spring Web, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Spring Cloud, Microservices, service registration, discovery, routing, distributed computations including Map Reduce, relational data models vs object models, and CI/CD pipelines.

The candidate is expected to be hands-on and lead by coding in full-stack software development including Java, Type Script, HTML5, React, Redux, Bash, Python, and Linux. Candidates with C++ programming skills are highly desired.

The candidate will join a team of talented and motivated developers to build Pricing and Evaluation systems for MBS and CMO. Knowledge of TBA, MBS, CMO, CMBS, and ABS instruments is preferred. Experience with Intex Subroutines and Wrappers is a strong plus. Candidates should also exhibit strong mathematical and analytical skills to work with quant models such as Interest Rates Model, Prepayment Model, Cashflow Model, and Monte Carlo simulations.

The candidate should be self-motivated, quick learners, and committed to development best practices, procedures, and policies.

• Manage the full lifecycle of engineering projects; perform complex development work and provide recommendations to management on potential solutions to issues.
• Manage all phases of the project lifecycle including implementation, programming, testing, and maintenance of software systems.
• Manage deadlines, budgets, and other department-related tasks; provide technical leadership within the team.
• Identify and resolve problems within their technology domain, providing solutions based on best practices and firm standards.
• Assist with project management and collaborate with product managers in evaluating product requirements; develop and review detailed technical specifications.

• Required Experience
• Proven track record as a Solution Architect
• 7+ years of development experience
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, Redux, Type Script, HTML5, Gradle
• Experience with Oracle or other RDBMS, SQL, Hibernate, JPA
• Proficiency in Bash and Perl
• Experience with Linux
• Working knowledge of MBS and CMO
• Knowledge of interest rate models, prepayment models, cashflow models, Monte Carlo simulations, and OAS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or Financial Engineering
• Strong Plus
• Prior experience with C++
• Experience with Intex Subroutines and Wrappers
