About

the Role

As a Senior Full‑Stack Software Engineer on the Crunchtime Suite team, you will be a key contributor to the evolution of our enterprise platform. We are seeking an empathetic systems thinker to collaborate with a talented team on researching and developing new features, products, and scalable service architectures. This role focuses on building high‑impact, customer‑facing functionality that serves as the core of our user experience.

As this is an R&D environment, our technology stack is intentionally flexible; however, our current technical direction leans toward Java and relational databases, with an eye toward event‑driven architecture using streaming integrations like Kafka.

What You’ll Do as a Senior Software Engineer
  • Improve tooling and software that comprises the Crunchtime Suite, including potential Web UI, APIs, and other forms of integration between services.
  • Contribute to and influence design and development decisions across the Suite.
  • Work within a self‑managing system using Sociocracy to drive continuous flow and value delivery.
  • Engage tight feedback loops with stakeholders to evolve our processes and optimize customer value.
  • Maximize throughput and minimize risk by using Pair Programming, TDD, CI/CD, and other Dev Ops best practices.
  • Use Jira, Slack, and Zoom to maintain high transparency and communicate effectively with your team and leadership.
What We’re Looking For
  • Great communicator and outstanding team player. Bias toward over‑communicating and asking questions.
  • Desire to be part of a team and culture, contributing to the best outcome for the team.
  • Curious and intentional about self‑development.
  • Proficient in multiple programming languages, software development frameworks, and tools.
  • Expertise in system architecture and design patterns.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentoring junior engineers and leading technical initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience with Agile methods and associated principles.
  • RDBMS experience.
  • Ability to design and implement the right technical solution for the right problem at the right time.
  • Strong focus on delivering quality results early and often.
Nice to Haves
  • Specific experience with Crunchtime tech (Java, Java script, Python, SQL).
  • Experience with Dev Ops.
  • Expertise in and experience developing enterprise and web products at scale.
  • Experience with distributed systems, complex user interfaces, or other challenging engineering problems.
  • You’ve built great relationships with coworkers in the past and want to keep doing so.
  • You care similarly about building great software and building great relationships with other people.
  • You’re interested in the technical problems we are solving.
