The Health SW team is a diverse, talented, and passionate group of engineers working at the center of Apple’s strategy to improve how people manage their health. We believe the latest AI development tools can enable more creative engineering work while building higher quality products faster.
We are seeking an exceptional engineer to support our efforts to accelerate our adoption of AI technologies within our iOS development workflow.
In this role, you’ll help set the technical direction for a portfolio of tools and services to support AI powered development, CLI tools, workflows and novel agentic systems that serve both human developers and autonomous systems, you’ll be responsible for delivering these tools and services, as well as supporting the broader engineering org as we adopt and iterate on new tools and workflows.
This role requires hands on technical expertise with AI systems and iOS codebases as well as strong communication and collaboration skills. You will partner with peer engineers, engineering managers, EPMs and teams across Apple to deliver on an ambitious roadmap to evolve our approach to software engineering.
- Define and deliver key internal tools and services to support AI development workflows within the Health SW organization
- Work alongside iOS product engineers to support adoption of AI tools and collect feedback to refine the team’s development roadmap
- Support overall developer productivity efforts supporting our product engineering team including CI systems, internal CLI tools, and reporting and triage services
- Contribute to the overall roadmap for development workflow support
- Ongoing support for live services and tools
- Collaborate with engineers across Apple to build shared tools and infrastructure to support AI development workflows and improve developer productivity
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience including Apple platform technologies like iOS & macOS frameworks, Swift/Objective-C, Xcode, etc
- Experience with developer experience and productivity tools and services like CI systems, IDEs and build tool chains
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience leading cross-functional projects that have had a tangible impact on the direction of the org and/or product
- Strong organizational skills and experience working on large multi-functional teams
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals, object-oriented programming, and design skills
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Extensive engineering experience with one or more Apple platforms - iOS, watch
OS, macOS - Strong understanding of the day-to-day software engineering experience and workflow
