Our Virtual Training Grounds platform gives security professionals and students access to cloud-hosted lab environments that simulate real industrial control systems, so they can practice the skills that matter before it counts in the real world.
Role DescriptionAs our Full Stack Engineer
, you'll be a core part of the small team building and maintaining the platform that delivers this training. Your work directly enables security professionals to develop the skills needed to defend critical infrastructure.
You will work directly with the founder to ship new platform features, integrate new training scenarios, improve reliability, and maintain the systems that deliver our cloud-hosted training labs.
This role is a good fit for someone who wants meaningful ownership, direct product impact, broad technical variety, and the opportunity to grow with an early-stage cybersecurity training company.
Responsibilities- Maintain existing Laravel & Moodle applications and integrations
- Help maintain Debian-based application and lab delivery systems, including local and Azure-hosted infrastructure.
- Design, build, and ship new features that let students launch, access, and complete cloud-hosted cybersecurity labs.
- Keep application and infrastructure dependencies secure, maintainable, and up to date.
- Perform code reviews, ensuring that code meets acceptance criteria and follows engineering best practices
- Experience taking ownership of features end-to-end, from design through deployment, with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working in a small startup environment with broad ownership and evolving priorities.
- 3+ years of professional full-stack development experience
- 3+ years of professional Laravel development experience
- Experience building, maintaining, and working with REST APIs
- Experience with git and Debian Linux + bash
- Experience debugging code and applications in production
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts
- Proven experience leading technical initiatives, making architectural decisions, and setting technical direction across the full stack
- 5-7 years of full-stack and/or Laravel development experience
- Experience with modern deployment practices & Azure infrastructure
- Experience with React, Python
- Experience with Grafana, Jenkins, and Sonar Qube
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools & workflows
- Experience with Moodle development, Moodle plugins, or LMS integrations.
- Knowledge of ICS/OT cybersecurity
