working for our Sports book domain, you are able to take defined designs and turn them into secure, stable, testable, maintainable code with minimal defects.

You will be working Fan Duel Sports book application, providing our customers with a best-in-class experience. You'll play a pivotal part in making our platform highly usable and will write clear, scalable, and high-quality code. You will work continuously to improve architecture and processes to improve quality and efficiency. In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company.

This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

Your work is consistently of high quality. You solve difficult problems, applying appropriate technologies and best practices. You work with your team to invent, design and build software that is stable and performant. You are proficient in a broad range of design approaches and know when it is appropriate to use them and when it is not. Your solutions are pragmatic.

You consider the legacy of the code you produce and write code that an Engineer unfamiliar with the system can understand. You limit the use of short-term workarounds. You do things with the proper level of complexity the first time (or at least minimize incidental complexity). You create flexible software without over-engineering. You make appropriate trade-offs, re-use where possible, and are judicious about introducing dependencies.

You are efficient with resource usage (e.g., system hardware, database, memory/CPU, etc).

What we're looking for in our next teammate

Required
Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of software development experience, including building and maintaining mobile applications using React and React Native.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/Type Script and core web technologies (HTML and CSS).

Experience with native mobile development on iOS and/or Android (e.g. Swift or Kotlin).
Experience contributing to frontend architecture decisions or shared component libraries.
Familiarity with OpenAPI or similar approaches to API documentation.
Deep experience delivering high-quality user interfaces with strong attention to performance, accessibility, and responsive design.
Experience designing and working with Node.js services, ideally using a backend-for-frontend (BFF) pattern.
Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms, and how they apply to real-world systems.
Proven ability to translate ambiguous requirements into well-designed, maintainable, and testable solutions.
Extensive experience with modern development workflows including Git/Git Hub, pull requests, and code reviews.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Jenkins or Build Kite.
Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS, including API Gateway and serverless patterns (e.g. Lambda).
Experience working with SQL databases and data-driven applications.
Familiarity with container-based development (e.g. Docker) and a working understanding of container orchestration concepts (e.g. Kubernetes).
Demonstrated ability to raise engineering standards, drive operational excellence, and influence best practices across a team.
