PositionStaff Software Engineer – Backend Engineering
Responsibilities- Work with core marketing platforms teams on microservices for marketing partners, delivering real‑time data for targeted marketing.
- Collaborate with engineers, product, quality, design and other functions to translate customer problems into code, applying current software engineering best practices.
- Write secure, stable, testable, maintainable code with minimal defects.
- Advise on trade‑off decisions and participate in team design, scoping and prioritization discussions.
- Act as a technical lead, owning team tech debt & improvement roadmaps, and guiding code quality, road map, and design reviews.
- Engage in code reviews, design discussions, ticket/metric/COE reviews, and drive best practices in operational excellence, security, quality.
- Resolve root causes of bottlenecks and influence software decisions across teams.
- Participate in on‑call rotation for customer support when required.
- Self‑manage craft, delegate, empower teammates, and partner with engineering manager to improve delivery.
- Foster constructive dialogue and build consensus across teams.
- Stay up‑to‑date with market standards and open‑source frameworks.
- Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of backend software development, designing and maintaining services.
- Strong experience with microservices architecture.
- Experience providing technical leadership across multiple teams, setting technical strategy and delivering organizational impact.
- High technical judgement, innovation and ability to tackle open‑ended problems with difficult prioritization.
- Experience working with product teams to identify and prioritize work such as tech debt, tech improvements and developer quality improvements.
- Proficiency with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog) and adherence to SLAs for backend performance.
- Experience with cloud‑based infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (preferably Buildkite) and familiarity with Git, Git Hub, Jira, Confluence.
- Skill in delegating, mentoring, and empowering individuals.
- Passion for quality and expertise in unit testing, testing tools or integration testing.
- Strong sense of ownership and track record of driving technical delivery.
- Experience with server‑side Java.
- Knowledge of AWS services such as SNS/SQS, AWS Serverless (Step Functions, Lambdas).
- Good grasp of relational, non‑relational databases, messaging queues and concurrency.
- Passion for the fast‑paced, innovative sports betting industry.

Salary RangeUSD 159,000 – 208,950 per year, dependent on experience, location, and market demand.
