Job Duties

Develop features for existing products and build new Android apps from scratch. Assist with software updates and the release process for existing applications. Collaborate with designers, testers, product managers and other developers to ensure the quality of the application. Develop new features using the Kotlin programming language. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the released applications. Consume RESTful web services to parse real‑time data and new items.

Implement fragments and navigation components from the Android SDK for easier navigation and code re‑usability. Implement Jenkins continuous integration and Espresso for automated testing. Work with Dagger 2, Kotlin, Junit, Android SDK, RxJava and Retrofit. Act as a primary resource and provide technical support to our Android developers working on Android projects at client sites throughout the country. Provide mentorship to ensure value‑add at the client site.

Prepare training modules and mock interview situations to enhance the learning process provided by the company. Participate in meetings to define guidelines for new employees to connect and access resources from the organization and streamline the onboarding process. Interact with our Executive and Sales team to ensure that projects and employees are appropriately matched to assignments. Prep consultants for interviews for Android assignments.

Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the company’s Android training materials. Provide mentorship and support for new employees in Android design and development. Conduct extensive research and implementation of latest and existing Android development technologies, utilizing Android documentation and other external resources. Perform software development to include verification and deployment of Android applications; production of clean and efficient code based on specifications;

troubleshooting and implementation of various data structures and algorithms. Perform Java development to include Object Oriented Programming, training junior developers in Java development, developing Android applications in Java, creating applications to match design requirements, and developing multithreaded applications. Perform Kotlin development to include functional programming, develop applications with Kotlin as core language, training junior developers in Kotlin development, and developing multimedia applications.

Consume RESTful API with Android 3rd party libraries, convert JSON web responses into Java classes using GSONConvertor

Factory as used with Retrofit. Oversee maintainable, testable and scalable Android application development. Develop guidelines and framework documents to train junior developers about procedures. Collaborate with testers and identify and resolve defects on projects. Debug and upgrade existing applications. Analyze code base to provide improvement and enable code efficiency. Perform testing using Junit and Espresso test. Analyze and refactor Java code base to follow best practices according to project guidelines.

Work with Android Studio, Android OS, OOP, Solid Principles, Google Maps SDK, Google Places API, Android Architecture Components, Continuous Integration, SQLite, Git Hub, Terminal, Linux, Java, Kotlin, MacOS, Android SDK, AVD, Data Structures and Algorithms, Net Beans, Espresso Test Suite, Mockito, RESTful API and Source Tree.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of experience. Foreign degree equivalent based on education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Experience to include one year’s use of the following tools/technologies:
Android Studio, Android OS, OOP, Solid Principles, Google Maps SDK, Google Places API, Android Architecture Components, Continuous Integration, SQLite, Git Hub, Terminal, Linux, Java, Kotlin, MacOS, Android SDK, AVD, Data Structures and Algorithms, Net Beans, Espresso Test Suite, Mockito, RESTful API, and Source Tree. Experience to include working with Dagger 2, Kotlin, Junit, Android SDK, RxJava and Retrofit.

Hours:

40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
