Senior Software Test Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to play a critical role in defining and scaling quality engineering practices across a modern cloud-based software platform. This individual will be responsible for designing QA processes, building repeatable and automated testing systems, and driving quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer with deep test automation expertise, capable of developing robust frameworks, improving test coverage, and partnering closely with engineering and product teams to ensure high-quality releases.

• Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable QA processes and automation strategies
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications, APIs, and backend services
• Create reliable, maintainable, and reusable test automation solutions using modern testing tools and best practices
• Design, create, modify, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and validation strategies at both the system and user level
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and Dev Ops teams to integrate quality practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Identify testing gaps, improve test coverage, and proactively address quality risks
• Drive continuous improvement of testing methodologies, automation capabilities, and release processes
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
• Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing into deployment workflows
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and provide actionable feedback to development teams

• 5+ years of experience in Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET), Quality Engineering, or Software Engineering with a strong focus on automation
• Strong object-oriented programming experience in Java
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles, including abstraction, design patterns, reusable libraries, and scalable architecture
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining UI automation frameworks using Selenium
• Strong experience with API automation and testing
• Experience developing automated testing frameworks from the ground up
• Experience creating and executing test plans for both functional and system-level validation
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and automated quality gates
• Experience working in Agile software development environments
• Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills

• Experience testing cloud-native applications within AWS environment
• Familiarity with microservices architectures and distributed systems
• Experience with performance, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with test reporting, monitoring, and quality metrics
• Exposure to modern Dev Ops practices and infrastructure automation

• Java or similar programming language (C#, Python, ETC.)
