Senior Service Now Developer
Location: Atlanta, GA (Local Candidates Only)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid/Onsite (as required)
Employment Type: Contract (Initial contract through the end of the current fiscal year, with anticipated renewal based on annual budget approval)
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Service Now Developer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise Service Now solutions that enhance IT service management and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Service Now development, platform customization, integrations, and ITSM/ITOM processes. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, architects, and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑quality Service Now solutions while following industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, configure, and implement scalable solutions on the Service Now platform.
- Customize Service Now applications, workflows, forms, catalogs, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and integrations.
- Develop and maintain REST/SOAP API integrations with enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Configure and enhance ITSM, CSM, HAM, FSM, and ITOM modules to improve business processes.
- Implement and support Service Mapping, Discovery, and Event Management capabilities.
- Troubleshoot platform issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, configuration documents, and user guides.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to Service Now development standards and security best practices.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership to the development team.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and solution design discussions.
- Stay current with new Service Now releases, features, and platform best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of hands‑on experience developing and administering the Service Now platform.
- Strong experience with Service Now development, configuration, customization, and platform administration.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Service Now scripting.
- Extensive experience developing REST and SOAP API integrations.
- Strong knowledge of ITSM and ITOM processes, workflows, automation, and platform optimization.
- Hands‑on experience with Service Now modules including:
- IT Service Management (ITSM)
- Customer Service Management (CSM)
- Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
- Field Service Management (FSM)
- Experience with Service Mapping, Discovery, and Event Management.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications.
- Experience implementing enterprise‑scale Service Now solutions.
- Knowledge of Service Now best practices, governance, and security standards.
