This role requires deep technical expertise in APIs, middleware, and data transformation, with hands‑on responsibility for coding, testing, and deploying integration solutions. The Lead will guide the institution’s transition from Banner to Workday, ensuring integrations are secure, reliable, and scalable while mentoring technical staff and serving as a key liaison with vendors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end‑to‑end design, development, and deployment of integrations between Banner, Workday, and related systems.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, web services, EIBs, and Workday Studio integrations to support enterprise data flows.
  • Perform hands‑on coding and scripting (e.g., SQL, Python, XML, XSLT, JSON) for integration and data transformation.
  • Manage data migration from Banner to Workday, including validation, reconciliation, and error resolution.
  • Build monitoring and alerting processes for integration performance and data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration failures, ensuring system uptime and business continuity.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams to translate business requirements into integration specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring for junior developers and analysts supporting ERP integrations.
  • Document integration architecture, workflows, technical procedures, and support guidelines.
  • Research emerging integration tools, techniques, and Workday/Banner updates to continuously optimize solutions.
  • Apply technical leadership, hands‑on expertise, collaboration, problem‑solving, and adaptability to lead integration initiatives effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience with ERP integrations, including hands‑on Workday integration development (Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, REST/SOAP APIs).
  • Strong technical knowledge of Ellucian Banner ERP (student, HR, or finance modules) and underlying database schemas.
  • Experience with middleware and integration platforms such as Dell Boomi, Mule Soft, Informatica, or comparable tools.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages: SQL, Python, XML, JSON, XSLT.
  • Deep understanding of API design, ETL processes, and system integration best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in higher education IT environments.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Prior leadership experience in ERP migration or large‑scale integration projects.
